What:  Adaptive Schools Foundations Seminar

When: Friday – Monday, March 1 – 4, 2019 (Friday through Monday, a four-day seminar)

Time:  8:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day

Where: American Embassy School, New Delhi in the BCR (Board Conference Room)

Who should attend? Administrators, teachers (Teams of educators are encouraged)

 

Why attend?

The goal of Adaptive Schools’ Seminars is to “develop the collective identity and capacity of organization members as collaborators and inquirers and leaders.” 

 

In the four-day Adaptive Schools Foundation Seminar, participants will develop:

  • An increased capacity to initiate, develop and sustain high functioning groups
  • New lenses for diagnosing the stages and phases of group development
  • An expanded repertoire of practical facilitation tools
  • Understandings of when and how to engage groups in dialogue and discussion, the limitations, forms and values of each
  • Skills to move groups beyond consensus to common focus
  • Ways to value and use dissension, argument, and conflict
  • Strategies for keeping group members on track, on topic, energized and resourceful

Who is presenting?  

Joelle Basnight is an Adaptive Schools Agency Trainer and the High School Principal at the American International School Chennai (AISC). She regularly engages her learning from Adaptive Schools and Cognitive Coaching with students and faculty alike. Joelle has also presented in the areas of incorporating student voice, mindfulness, productivity, leadership and group facilitation. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from 22 years in international education as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. She has worked at the American School Quito, the American Embassy School New Delhi, Shanghai American School, Lincoln School Buenos Aires and Cairo American College and holds a masters degree in Counseling, another in Educational Leadership as well as a Masters’ of Business Administration.

Megha Radhakrishnan is an Adaptive Schools Agency Trainer and an Elementary School homeroom teacher at the American International School Chennai (AISC). She has also been an EAL specialist, curriculum designer, and instructional coach, and enjoys building collaborative work environments with students and colleagues. A third-culture kid herself, Megha values the power of differences, and strongly believes in harnessing diversity to support learning, especially in international education. Apart from Adaptive Schools, Megha has also presented in the areas of inclusive education, trans-languaging and building equitable cultures of learning in international classrooms. She has a masters degree in English language teaching. Megha is a polyglot, an avid reader and a firm believer in learning every day, alongside her students.

The registration fee is $350 per person which includes light breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

What if I need to cancel, what is the refund policy?

Full refund up to 30 days before event–by February 1, 2019

Half refund between February 1st and February 25, 2019

If you plan to extend your stay, the cultural experiences below can be arranged for you through Sun Tours:  Contact aestravel@aes.ac.in should you wish to sign up for a cultural experience.

  • Delhi Tour – North and South Delhi for a guided tour of sightseeing and shopping.
  • Day or Overnight Trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal
