The Elementary School program is designed to establish a firm foundation in the core curriculum of language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. It is based upon an American curriculum which facilitates transfer to schools in the United States as well as other international schools.
Students are provided with opportunities to gain an understanding and appreciation of India and global issues. The school strives to present a program of active, child-centered learning based on a progression from concrete to more abstract thinking.
The Elementary School seeks to create a climate which fosters self-esteem by celebrating the growth and development of each student. Children have opportunities to work and play independently and within groups.
The program is enriched through age-appropriate activities in physical education, library, Indian Studies, art, music, and technology. French and Spanish are introduced in Grades 3 - 5. English as a Second Language instruction is offered to nonEnglish speaking children.
The Learning Center provides special help for students who are experiencing learning problems and who are recommended for specific assistance by our teachers. The Learning Center program is not designed for children with severe learning disabilities.
The Elementary School Counselor assists parents and children in making adjustments to the school and offers classroom guidance instruction.
