NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 2013
If at all possible, high school students are strongly encouraged to attend new student orientation. Orientation is held just prior to the start of each semester for students joining AES in August or January. This is an excellent opportunity to meet the other new students as well as some returning students, become acquainted with your course schedule and classroom locations, and learn about the vast number of co-curricular opportunities at AES.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2013
All high school students should come to the main gym for the Welcome Assembly at 8:30. After the assembly, students will receive their class schedule, agenda book, and handbook, followed by a 1-8 Day. Class periods will be shortened and students will have a chance to meet each of their teachers. Students need bring only a notebook and pen or pencil that day because teachers will tell them what materials will be needed for the course.

Campus Tours
We remember what it feels like to be a new family at AES and the Parent School Association (PSA) wants to do what it can to help ease the transition into your new school. Taking a short tour of the AES campus can do a lot to alleviate concerns, answer questions and calm nerves prior to the first day. These tours are geared toward Elementary and Middle School students and parents. High School students and parents will have tours during the High School Orientation session.
If you would like to take advantage of a chance to show your children around the AES campus PRIOR to orientation, please be aware that there will be two opportunities for you in August.
Saturday, August 10th - 8:30 am (Elementary and Middle School)
Saturday, August 10th - 10:00 am (Elementary and Middle School)
This is not a replacement for your child's official school orientation, only a brief glimpse of the campus and may not provide access to all areas.
If your family is interested in participating one of the brief campus tours noted above, please reserve your spot for a tour, led by a group of parent representatives by sending an email to SchoolTour@aes.ac.in. Our tours will begin and end at Gate #2.
It is important to reserve a spot for access to the campus.
LINK Families
As you arrive in New Delhi over the next several weeks, we are sure that you may have a lot of questions about AES and life in Delhi.
We offer the PSA LINK Family Program to introduce and help acclimate new families to AES and Delhi. As a new family, you will be paired up with a "veteran" AES family. This current AES family will serve as your "buddy." Over the summer, you will be contacted by your LINK family via email. If you so choose, you and your LINK family can chat over coffee, meet before school begins if you are here, or even set up a playdate with your kids. Most importantly, the LINK family will be there for you to answer any questions that you may have about life in Delhi and about your transition into AES.
On Sunday, August 25th from 3-5pm in the Main Gym, there will be a PSA Ice Cream Social to introduce the NEW families to their LINK families.
If you are interested in being linked with a current AES family, please let us know by contacting LinkFamily@aes.ac.in.
