"Good teachers possess a capacity for connectedness. They weave the connections between themselves, their subjects, and their students on "the loom of the heart." Parker Palmer, from The Courage to Teach

Dear Parents,
HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY to our AES mothers! Given the kind nature of our students and their desire to "be the person they want to be" we can see the impact of your guidance and positive influence in their lives. We honor moms and dads for having the most important job in the world!
A reminder that our ES YEARBOOK is available for purchase for $20 or 1,000 rupees. Please see my note below. Elizabeth Harris, our coordinator, has done an exceptional job on this yearbook and we want to get it into the hands of as many of our students as possible. It is a lasting memory of their time here at AES.
We had a great turn out of students bringing books to the first annual Book Swap in the ES. There were 270 in all! This week will be the actual "swap" led by Tammy Pretz with great help from our dedicated parents and student council members. It really does take a village to work together for the benefit of students. Many thanks to our fabulous librarian, Tammy Pretz, and all of you who helped!!
Last call for your child's report card envelopes to help us be more eco-friendly. Thanks for sending them in with your child. Report cards will be sent home with students on Thursday, May 30 unless a child is withdrawing at an earlier date. If your family is leaving Delhi prior to May 30, you may pick up the report card on your return to Delhi in August.
Loving AES,
Susan
CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK: This is a BIG week in the library! We have the Book Swap, Raffle, and Scholastic Book Fair. Students may purchase tickets for 50 rupees for legos, character toys, posters, authors' books and more! When your child purchases a ticket please mark the type of prize he/she would like a chance at winning. Select one type of prize per ticket. Tickets will be available May 13-17 at the ES Library Circulation Desk. All proceeds will be used to replace damaged books.
FAREWELL ASSEMBLY: We will have our Farewell Assembly on May 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the gym. In addition to saying goodbye to our students, we will also bid farewell to the following faculty members moving on from Delhi. These teachers have dedicated many years to AES and are moving to various parts of the world. We will send them off with our best wishes and deepest gratitude for positively impacting the lives of their students.
