Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Faculty:

Normally, the minimum qualifications required for faculty are:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably from a U.S. College/University, and
  •         Certification in teaching, preferably from the U.S., and
  • Three years successful teaching experience, preferably in an American or international PK-12 school

Teaching Assistants:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Teaching Diploma/Certificate (B.Ed.)
  • Experience in an American/International school

Non-Teaching Staff

  • Depending on the position;
  • Qualification and experience requirements are given in the job description.

Position Title:                    Administrative Assistant (Elementary Library)

Starting date:             Immediate

Work hours:               8 hours per day (duty hours and days depending on job requirements);

Salary Range:            Rs. 40,000 - Rs. 45,000/- per month plus benefits (Grade-7 AES Scale)

Position Duties :

Under the guidance of the Elementary School librarian, this person is responsible for the following:

Purchase:

  • ·        Prepares purchase orders for print, non-print materials, and supplies
  • ·        Monitors shipping information/status
  • ·        Checks receipt of materials against invoices, processes invoices for payment

Budget:

  • ·        Maintains up-to-date record of ES Library budget.

Publications/Periodicals:

  • ·        Provides subscription services and timely renewal of all the magazines
  • ·        Initiates and retains all correspondence with publishers

Administration:

  • ·        Prepares bibliographies, reading lists, library handouts and power point presentations
  • ·        Helps in bi-annual inventory of ES library
  • ·        Works at circulation desk as needed.
  • ·        Provides support for processing of new materials (cataloging) and shelving
  • ·        Assists other members of the library, as needed
  • ·        Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications / knowledge / experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Additional diploma or degree in Library Science preferred;
  • 3 - 5 years work experience working in a library, or K-12 school in a similar field
  • Proficiency in Computer applications – MS Word and Excel and any library software
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in relation to different day-to-day activities
  • Ability to liaise with a number of school departments, viz. Accounting, Purchasing, Cafeteria, Facilities Management, etc. 

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of team
  • Organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to work with international clientele and work under pressure
  • Excellent people skills
