AES Academic Language Institute – June 2017

Join us in June, 2017 for our Academic English language program for students ages 6-17.

Registration opens:

  • March 9 – registration opens for AES Community (AES students and AES staff children –  immediate family members only). NOW OPEN!!   Register HERE
  • March 16 – registration opens to the general public.

Academic Language Institute registration closes May 15. Waitlisted students will be accommodated as space allows. We will continue to take new registrations as long as space is available.

At the Academic Language Institute (ALI), your child will benefit from:

  • Academic English instruction taught across multiple disciplines (math, science, language arts and social studies)
  • Instruction from a team of highly-qualified educators selected from AES faculty
  • Grade level and age-appropriate programs specific to the language needs of Primary and Secondary students

Who this program is for:

  • Students who are new to English language learning
  • Students who are in need of language enrichment
  • Current EAL students who want to maintain their English level over the summer

Fees: ALI@AES cost is USD$500 per child for a two-week, half-day session (MondayFriday, total 10 days).

AES Academic Language Institute Leadership

Fraizer, CathyDr. Catherine Frazier, Director of the AES Academic Language Institute and EAL faculty at AES high school. Dr Frazier is responsible for AES ALI curriculum and program design. She holds a PhD in Socio-Anthropology and Multicultural Education and two Master’s Degrees (MATESL, MATL) in teaching English to speakers of other languages.


 

Henderson, Jennifer (1)

Jennifer Henderson, Co-Director of the AES Academic Language Institute and Middle School EAL teacher at AES. Jennifer Henderson is responsible for logistics and on-site coordination of the summer program. She holds a Master’s Degree in EAL as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.


 

Nicola

Nicola Takizawa, serves as an off-site coordinator of the AES Academic Language Institute. She is a multi-lingual MA and certified school teacher. Ms Takizawa is a member of the AES middle and high school faculty.
