The Design course is a semester-long elective course that explores design as a framework for organizing visual expression. Students study composition and the principles of design, observe and discuss successful designs, and analyze the principles that underlie them. Students apply these lessons in original, hands-on projects with an emphasis on creative application of design elements and visual communication. The class is meant to give students a basic design foundation which can be applied to any visual presentation they might encounter in or outside school.
