What is it?

ALI@AES is a Summer English Language Institute that builds Academic English. In this program, your child will benefit from:

  • Academic English instruction taught across math, science, language arts & social studies
  • Instruction from a team of highly-qualified educators
  • Grade level and age-appropriate programs for both Primary and Secondary students

Who is it for?

These programs are for:

  • Students who are new to English language learning
  • Current EAL who are interested in targeted language support
  • Current EAL students who want to maintain their English level over the summer


  • ALI@AES cost is USD $500 per child per session block
  • This is a two-week, half-day session
  • MondayFriday (total 10 days)

AES Academic Language Institute Leadership

Fraizer, CathyDr. Catherine Frazier, Director of the AES Academic Language Institute and EAL faculty at AES high school. Dr Frazier is responsible for AES ALI curriculum and program design. She holds a PhD in Socio-Anthropology and Multicultural Education and two Master’s Degrees (MATESL, MATL) in teaching English to speakers of other languages.


Henderson, Jennifer (1)

Jennifer Henderson, Co-Director of the AES Academic Language Institute and Middle School EAL teacher at AES. Jennifer Henderson is responsible for logistics and on-site coordination of the summer program. She holds a Master’s Degree in EAL as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.
